Team Tegwyn learnt how to use Nosework and interactive training games to manage arousal and reinforce respectful behaviour around sheep.
After a recent sheep chasing incident we veered from the set training plan to focus on this hot issue. I’m lucky to have a docile and confident small flock to practise with. They spent the session pottering about unfazed, venturing closer to greet us and lazing about in the shady hedge.
Tegwyn did great and his people now how a clearer understanding of what is needed to both manage and encourage safer behaviour for this young and eager gun do.
Dogs like this don’t need a firmer hand, they need clear, positive guidance. I’m looking forward to seeing this sensitive chap blossom through the training games with his people 😊
