Using a TTouch harness and rope, we were able to help Bess release some body tension and manage her arousal level.
Using this equipment I find that when a dog does pull ahead their power is more easily managed because the pressure in the rope can be softened, encouraging their body to soften too.
With the freedom to move between us for food, Bess safely began to process the surrounding stimulating sounds and smells. She was then better able to disengage from triggers and reconnect with us. Before long, Bess was voluntarily seeking reinforcement from us.
